Roy Estate Mr. Evans Proprietary Red is a single vineyard, estate-grown Bordeaux-style blend from Napa Valley, produced in limited quantities of 400 to 750 cases per vintage. The wine is crafted primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon with precise additions of Merlot and Petit Verdot, all grown on the Roy Estate property, and aged up to 21 months in 100% new Taransaud French oak barrels.

A wine of striking complexity and substantial structure, Mr. Evans consistently showcases the depth and fine tannins of the Roy Estate terroir. Across vintages the blend typically runs approximately 60–74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15–33% Merlot, and 7–15% Petit Verdot. Vinification takes place in concrete tanks and open-top fermenters with 20–26 days of maceration and 100% barrel malolactic fermentation, with no fining and no filtration. Alcohol ranges from 14.7% to 15.2% depending on vintage.

The wine opens with vibrant red and black fruit aromas—currant, cassis, dark plum, and blackberry—evolving toward savory notes of cedar, forest floor, and warm spices. Well-calibrated tannins and ample acidity provide excellent structure for extended cellaring of 15–20+ years. Decant and serve at approximately 60°F for optimal enjoyment.
