Château de Chantegrive Graves Rouge is a distinguished red Bordeaux wine from the Graves appellation in Bordeaux, France. Produced by one of the region's notable estates, founded in 1966 by Henri and Françoise Lévêque, this wine is crafted from an even blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot. The vines average 30 years of age and grow in characteristic Graves soils of gravel, sand, limestone, and small quartz stones, providing excellent drainage and heat reflection.
The wine is aged for 15 months in approximately 33% new French oak barrels, resulting in a medium-bodied red with flavors of black currant, black cherry, and darker raspberry fruits, accented by notes of cedary herbs, tobacco, and earth. It offers juicy acidity balanced by a dry core of tannins, with spice and structure that promise age-worthiness of a decade or more. The 2019 vintage earned 92 points from Wine Enthusiast and 90 points from Jeb Dunnuck.
