The Trimbach Riesling 390th Anniversary (Cuvée du 390ème Anniversaire) is an exceptional white wine from Alsace, France, produced by Maison Trimbach — one of the region's most celebrated producers with roots dating to 1626. This rare cuvée has been made only three times in the last four centuries, marking the 350th anniversary in 1976, the 375th in 2001, and the 390th in 2016.
Sourced from Trimbach's finest parcels, including Grand Cru sites such as Osterberg and Schoenenbourg, this 100% Riesling is the pinnacle of the estate's craft. The vineyard's 45-year-old vines are grown on marl-limestone-sandstone and Muschelkalk soils in the prime terroirs of Ribeauvillé, Bergheim, and Hunawihr. The estate is certified HVE3 and managed under sustainable and organic viticulture practices.
On the nose, the wine delivers fragrant notes of petrol, pear, white flowers, citrus, and soft honey with mineral undertones. The palate is bright and lemony with silky smoothness, expressive apricot and beeswax flavors, and a long, spiced, puckery finish with echoes of dill, fennel frond, and eucalyptus. With just 6 g/L residual sugar, it presents as richer and more luscious than its technical sweetness suggests. Critical scores include 95 points from Wine Enthusiast, 94 from Vinous Media, and 93 from Wine Spectator, with a drinking window extending through 2036.
