Château Lynch-Bages Grand Cru Classé is one of the most celebrated estates in Pauillac, located on Bordeaux's prestigious Left Bank in the Médoc region of France. Classified as a 5ème Grand Cru Classé (Fifth Growth) in the historic 1855 Bordeaux Classification, Lynch-Bages consistently performs well above its official ranking and is regarded by critics and collectors as one of Bordeaux's greatest wines. The estate is owned by the Cazes family and produces wines of exceptional depth and longevity from the well-draining gravel soils of Pauillac.
The wine is a classic Left Bank Bordeaux blend anchored by Cabernet Sauvignon (typically 66–70%), complemented by Merlot (24–28%), Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. On the nose it delivers intense aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, black cherry, tobacco, cedar, and violet. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated with characteristic Pauillac structure: firm but plush tannins, lively acidity, and notes of blackberry, earthy leather, smoke, cigar box, and spice. Vintages regularly earn scores in the 90s from major wine publications, with the 2018 vintage receiving 97 points from Wine Spectator. The wine is known for its ability to age gracefully for 15 to 25+ years, developing remarkable complexity over time.
Pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, poultry, and game meats such as venison. Alcohol content is approximately 13.5%. Contains sulfites. Sealed with natural cork.
