Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red is an iconic Napa Valley Bordeaux-style blend, first produced in 1986 and considered one of the region's most celebrated and collectible wines. Made in limited quantities, it is an age-worthy expression of Napa Valley's finest terroir.

The wine is typically composed of approximately 80–87% Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc making up the remainder. It offers compelling aromas of ripe cherries, cassis, and blueberries with notes of crème de cassis, graphite, tobacco, and earth. On the palate it is full-bodied, rich, dense, and velvety, with dusty tannins and a long, mouthwatering finish.
