Chateau Grand Tayac is a classic red Bordeaux from the Margaux appellation in the Médoc region of France. The vineyard is composed almost exclusively of old vines planted in 1962, growing on a gravelly outcrop that imparts the wine with signature Margaux elegance and finesse. Each 750ML bottle is sold individually.
The wine is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend — 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot — crafted under the guidance of the celebrated father-and-son consulting winemaking team Eric and Jacques Boissenot, who oversee the majority of the Médoc's renowned classified growths. The result is a full-bodied red with lifted aromatics, dense dark fruit, well-integrated oak, and a long, lingering finish. Expect notes of blackcurrant, plum, and subtle earthy complexity with firm but supportive tannins.
Grand Tayac has received consistent recognition in international wine competitions, including a Silver medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris and recognition in the Guide Hachette des Vins. It pairs beautifully with beef, duck, venison, and rich charcuterie.
