Domaine Masse Chardonnay Burgundy, France 750ML

Domaine Masse Père et Fils Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise Chardonnay Vieilles Vignes is a white wine made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown on 15 hectares of biodynamic and organically farmed vineyards in Burgundy's Côte Chalonnaise region. Winemaker Fabrice Masse, who took over the domaine from his father in 2000, hand-sorts the fruit on sorting tables before complete destemming and cold settling at around 52°F prior to pressing to preserve elegance.

Fermentation takes place in barrels with aging lasting 10 to 12 months. The wine presents a clear complexion with grey-gold highlights. On the nose it offers aromas of white flowers such as hawthorn and honeysuckle, dried fruits, lemon, and a suggestion of warm croissants and honey. The palate is fleshy and well-balanced with a lively attack and just the right amount of delicacy. James Suckling rated the 2022 vintage 90 points, noting white grapefruit, lemon rind, almond, and cream on the nose with a sleek, creamy, fresh palate of medium body and a supple finish.
