Château Pierre 1er is a distinguished red wine from the prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation in Bordeaux, France. The estate spans 11 hectares of vineyards situated on the revered limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, neighboring renowned châteaux such as Cheval Blanc and Figeac. The property was formerly known as Château Croix Figeac before being relabeled as Château Pierre 1er in 2013.
The wine is crafted primarily from Merlot (approximately 80%) blended with Cabernet Franc (20%), a classic Bordeaux Right Bank composition that produces rich, expressive red wines with excellent aging potential. Tasting notes include aromas of ripe plum, baked cherries, hawthorn, and citrus on the nose, with a juicy palate featuring darker cherry fruit, leafy herbs, earth, graphite spice, mint, and crushed flowers. The wine displays firm, dusty tannins and a medium-long finish with solid structure. Recent vintages have earned scores in the 90–92 range from critics including James Suckling, Jeb Dunnuck, and Vinous Media, and are recommended for drinking from 2026 onwards with up to 10–12 years of cellaring potential.
