Château Laroque Grand Cru is a prestigious red Bordeaux blend from the Saint-Émilion appellation in France. The estate spans 61 hectares (151 acres), making it one of the largest in Saint-Émilion, and is crafted under the direction of Technical Director David Suire. The wine is composed primarily of Merlot with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc, reflecting the classic Right Bank Bordeaux style, and achieves approximately 13.5% ABV.
On the nose, the wine offers a pure and focused bouquet of ripe dark and red fruit — plum, cherry, blackberries — with accents of violets, rose petal, mint, vanilla, and a touch of white pepper. The palate is juicy, clean, and crystalline, with silky tannins and a perfect balance of fruit and acidity. A signature streak of graphite and slate minerality runs through the finish, a hallmark of the estate's limestone terroir. The wine is structured for a long drinking window (typically 2023–2037 for recent vintages).
Château Laroque has earned exceptional critical acclaim across multiple vintages, regularly scoring 93–97 points from major critics including Decanter, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Vinous Media, and James Suckling. It is widely regarded as one of Saint-Émilion's brightest rising stars and represents outstanding value within the Grand Cru classification.
