Panicaut Plan de Dieu Rouge is a Côtes du Rhône Villages red wine from the Plan de Dieu appellation, often referred to as "Baby Châteauneuf-du-Pape." Produced by La Cave Les Côteaux du Rhône in Sérignan-du-Comtat, a small medieval village in Vaucluse, this wine is a blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre grown on limestone soils covered with alluvium and rounded pebbles from the ancient Wurmian terraces of the Ouvèze.

The wine reveals a deep robe with purplish reflections. Its intense nose exudes notes of fresh fruit, ripe stone fruits, smoke, tobacco leaf, coffee, and jam. Full-bodied on the palate with remarkably silky tannins, the finish is very persistent, giving the impression of crunching into ripe fruit. This dense and rich wine pairs well with beef, lamb, and game. The name "Panicaut" refers to sea holly, a plant that thrives in tough, gravelly conditions similar to the Southern Rhône terroir. Alcohol content is 13.5%. Contains sulfites.
