Château La Cabanne is a classic Pomerol red wine from Bordeaux, France, produced by the Estager family who have owned the estate since 1952. The vineyard spans 8.84 hectares of clay and gravel soils in the heart of Pomerol, neighboring prestigious estates such as Trotanoy and Clinet. The property achieved organic certification in 2023, reflecting a commitment to sustainable viticulture. Vines average 30 years of age, contributing depth and concentration to the wine.

The blend is composed primarily of Merlot (94%) with a small addition of Cabernet Franc (6%), though recent vintages may vary. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation in barrel. The wine is aged in 60% new French oak barrels for approximately 15 months, yielding around 2,500 cases annually.

Expect an elegant, medium-bodied wine with aromas and flavors of plum, cherry, chocolate, earth, and violets, with a silky texture and fresh finish. It pairs well with beef, lamb, and venison. The estate dates to the mid-1700s, making it one of the older properties in the Pomerol appellation.
