Château Tour Saint-Christophe is a prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate located in the commune of Saint Christophe des Bardes, just east of the Saint-Émilion village in Bordeaux, France. The property is owned by Peter Kwok and managed by his daughter Karen Kwok, with consulting winemaker Michel Rolland overseeing vinification.
The wine is a classic Right Bank Bordeaux blend composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, sourced from 20 hectares of clay and limestone soils. Grapes are harvested and vinified using meticulous micro-vinification techniques, with approximately 50% of the wine fermented and aged in 60% new French oak barrels for 18 months before bottling. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrel, contributing to the wine's richness and complexity.
Expect aromas of dark cherries, black raspberries, licorice, smoke, and chocolate, with a full-bodied palate offering layers of ripe fruit, minerality, and polished tannins. The wine benefits from 5–8 years of bottle age and can be decanted for 1–3 hours when served young. Best enjoyed at 15.5°C (60°F), it pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, duck, game, mushrooms, and aged cheeses. Peak drinking window typically spans 6–22 years from the vintage.
