Prelius Vermentino Italy 750ML

Prelius Vermentino is a certified organic Italian white wine from the Maremma Toscana DOC in coastal Tuscany, crafted from 100% Vermentino grapes grown on clay and sand soils at 131–164 feet above sea level, just five miles from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The wine is produced by Castelprile, an estate of the Stianti Mascheroni family — the same family behind Castello di Volpaia in Chianti Classico — and carries EU organic certification as well as LifeGate "Impatto Zero" (Zero Impact) environmental certification.

Vinified entirely in stainless steel to preserve freshness, the wine rests on its lees for six months to add texture and body. It pours with aromas of stone fruit, wet rock, and coastal minerality, while the palate delivers bright flavors of pineapple, grapefruit, and citrus with lively acidity and a clean, refreshing finish. It earned 88 points from Costco Wine Blog.

This wine pairs well with white fish such as halibut, sushi, seafood pasta, and fresh salads, and is equally enjoyable on its own as an aperitivo. The name Prelius refers to the ancient Etruscan and Roman salt lake that once occupied this part of the Maremma, where Benedictine monks later cultivated vines in the district of Prile.
