Château Figeac Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé A Bordeaux, France 3L

Château Figeac is one of Bordeaux's most storied estates, located in the Saint-Émilion appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, France. In 2022, it was elevated to Premier Grand Cru Classé A status — the highest tier in the Saint-Émilion classification — joining only a select handful of estates at this pinnacle level.

This 3-liter format (double magnum) contains Figeac's signature Cabernet-dominant red blend, a hallmark that sets it apart from most Saint-Émilion wines. The estate's 42-hectare vineyard is planted to approximately 35% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 30% Merlot, grown on rare gravelly terroir featuring quartz, iron, clay, and sand soils. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and open-top wood vats, with aging in 100% new French oak barrels for 14 to 18 months.

The wine is celebrated for its elegance, freshness, and refined structure — showing flavors of black cherry, plum, tobacco, cigar box, truffle, and spice, with silky tannins and a long finish. It is best enjoyed with at least 12 to 15 years of age in good vintages and pairs beautifully with classic meat dishes including beef, lamb, duck, and game. Young bottles benefit from 2 to 3 hours of decanting. The 3-liter format is ideal for long-term cellaring and special occasions, as larger formats age more gracefully and slowly than standard bottles.
