Château Quintus is a prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé from the Right Bank of Bordeaux, France, produced by Domaine Clarence Dillon — the same family behind Château Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. The estate was formed from the historic vineyards of Château Tertre Daugay and Château L'Arrosée, with vines averaging 30 years of age and select parcels approaching 100 years old, planted on prized limestone and clay soils. The name "Quintus" is derived from the Latin word for "five," as this is the fifth property in the Domaine Clarence Dillon portfolio, with roots tracing back to the Romans who first cultivated vines in this region.

The 2019 vintage is a blend of 55.4% Merlot and 44.6% Cabernet Franc, harvested from September 19 through October 9. The wine is vinified in a combination of stainless steel tanks and wooden vats, then aged in a mixture of new and neutral French oak barrels (40% new oak). It presents a deep garnet-purple color with aromas of plum preserves, blueberry, boysenberry, white truffle, Chinese five spice, mocha, dried lavender, and licorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with creamy, fine-grained tannins, layers of ripe black and red cherry fruit, leafy herbs, baking spices, tobacco, and graphite, finishing with great length and elegance. Alcohol is approximately 15%.

This is a wine that is already approachable but will reward cellaring for another 20–25 years. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended to fully open its complex aromatic profile. Expert ratings include 96/100 from Jeb Dunnuck, 94–96/100 from Neal Martin (Vinous) and Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate), 97–98/100 from James Suckling, 94/100 from Robert Parker, and 93/100 from Decanter. This Costco offering is sold in a case of 6 x 750ML bottles.
