Lechuza Garnacha is a Spanish red wine made from old bush vine Grenache (Garnacha) grapes grown in the Cariñena and Méntrida regions of Spain. The vines are 50 to 70 years old, planted on granitic sandy soils at elevations of 400 to 600 meters, where extreme temperature swings between day and night produce concentrated fruit.
The grapes are destemmed and fermented with wild yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The resulting wine is silky, spicy, and aromatic with intense floral and berry aromas, lively acidity, and mineral structure. Tasting notes include beautiful scents of violets and blueberry complemented by rich flavors of blackberry and wild strawberry, with supple red berry fruit and a bright, succulent finish. Alcohol content is 14.5%. Contains sulfites. Pairs well with beef, lamb, poultry, pasta, and game.
